Filipino teen lifts record-breaking 183 kg to claim Asian Games bronze

Filipino weightlifter Albert Ian Delos Santos earned bronze in the men’s 70-kg event at the 2026 Asian Games, breaking the junior world record with a 183-kg clean and jerk for a 324-kg total.

At the Nagoya City Trade and Industry Center, 20-year-old Albert Ian Delos Santos of the Philippines captured bronze in the men’s 70-kg weightlifting competition at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026. He surpassed his own junior world record twice, lifting 181 kg and then 183 kg in the clean and jerk, which gave him a 324-kg total and also set new junior Asian records. The performance marked a strong debut on the Asian Games stage.
