Finance Minister Nazare urges swift end to political crisis before Wednesday vote

Alexandru Nazare, the proposed Finance Minister, told reporters that the political crisis must be settled as soon as possible, citing the Wednesday vote on Siegfried Mureşan's government as a decisive moment. He explained that a stable government would enable faster implementation of policies and that the country's budget execution provides a solid argument for its credit rating. While Standard & Poor’s is set to release a report, Nazare declined to predict its outcome, citing the complexity created by political instability.

He also addressed concerns about future tax hikes, stating that any decisions on raising taxes, including VAT for 2027, will be made only after the budget is approved. Nazare, who also serves as interim minister in the Bolojan cabinet, stressed the importance of securing parliamentary support for the new ministers.
