Finance Ministry raises spending limit to fund energy compensation and disability transport aid

A new budget amendment expands the Finance Ministry's spending limit to ensure the National Agency for Payments and Social Inspection can settle all outstanding energy compensation claims for electricity and natural gas. The same allocation also covers the National Authority for the Protection of Persons with Disabilities, enabling it to meet transport allowances for severely disabled individuals and prevent penalty accruals.

Minister Alexandru Nazare highlighted that slow reimbursements have pressured firms' cash flow, limiting their capacity to finance operations and invest. He noted that recent legislative changes this year raise the reimbursed share to sixty percent and add a twenty-percent top-up for previously under-paid requests. The ministry argues that the state must manage new schemes prudently to preserve liquidity for the private sector and foster economic growth.
