Finland’s Summa Defence Files for Corporate Restructuring Amid Cash Shortage
Summa Defence has submitted a corporate restructuring petition to the Helsinki District Court, citing depleted operating capital and weakened liquidity.
The defence contractor announced that both Summa Defence and its subsidiary Summa Holding oy have lodged restructuring applications with the Helsinki District Court. In September, the firm warned that its cash reserves were exhausted and no additional financing was secured. Management believes restructuring offers a better outcome for creditors than bankruptcy, allowing continued operations and orderly asset sales.
Why it matters
The restructuring could disrupt Finland's defence supply chain and affect jobs and contracts in the sector.
