Finnish party support holds steady as gaps between major parties narrow slightly

A new poll shows the relative standings of Finland's major parties remain unchanged, with the gap between the two largest parties shrinking a bit.

A recent Finnish opinion poll found that the hierarchy of party support stayed largely the same, but the distance between the two leading parties tightened. The centre-right coalition experienced a slight dip in backing, whereas the nationalist party recorded a modest rise since September. The Social Democratic Party continued to lead the rankings, while the Centre Party held the fourth spot.

The Left Alliance, Greens and the Swedish People's Party saw stable figures, all within the survey's error range. The poll was conducted as an internet panel in mid-October on behalf of a leading newspaper, with the polling firm Verian handling the methodology. Results suggest only minor shifts in voter preferences ahead of upcoming elections.
