Fire at Russia's Amur petrochemical plant kills three, injures over a hundred

A fire erupted in a secondary technical zone of the Amur Gas Chemical Complex, a petrochemical site located in Russia's far-eastern Amur region. The incident resulted in three deaths, identified as two Chinese citizens and one Russian national. According to the company's statement, 24 individuals required hospital treatment for more serious injuries, while another 122 suffered light injuries that did not require admission.

Emergency responders are still engaged in search and rescue operations and are working to extinguish the primary fire, as well as to carry out controlled combustion of residual industrial gas. The company emphasized that the main production facilities were not damaged by the incident. Ongoing efforts aim to fully contain the fire and ensure safety for remaining personnel.
