Fire Department Sends Glacier Disaster Cases to PSD for Salary and Pension Review
The Fire and Rescue Department will refer the welfare issues of two officers injured in the Rasuwa glacier flood to the Public Service Department for decisions on salary continuation and pension.
In the wake of the recent glacier collapse and resulting flash flood in Rasuwa, Nepal, the Fire and Rescue Department announced it will submit the cases of two of its personnel to the Public Service Department for evaluation. The issues concern whether salary payments should continue and how pension benefits will be handled for the officers involved. Deputy director Mohd Sani Harul, who is set to retire on September 23, will have his post-retirement pay and pension examined for possible justification.
The second officer, Mohd Fakhrul Munir Mohd Isa of the Central Region Academy, also took part in the disaster response. Director-general Datuk Seri Nor Hisham Mohammad disclosed the plan after attending the 2026 Public Sector Human Resource Management Conference at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre.
