Fire engulfs Ukraine aid storage at Frankfurt school, cause under investigation

Since the early hours, the Frankfurt fire department has been battling a fire that broke out in a storage room on the premises of the Viktor-Frankl-Schule, where supplies collected by the humanitarian project "Frankfurt for Ukraine" were kept. The blaze was brought under control by morning, and firefighters are now engaged in lengthy, labour-intensive cleanup expected to last the entire day. Police investigators and forensic teams remain on site, examining evidence to establish the cause.
Authorities have stated that neither arson nor a political motive can be ruled out at this stage. The extent of the loss of the stored aid items has not yet been assessed, and residents reported the smoke to emergency services around 2:30 a.m.
