First Druze Soldier of Israel's Armored Corps Honored After Fatal Helicopter Attack

Munhal Amer served in the Israel Defense Forces' Armored Corps and became the first Druze soldier to fall in combat. He died when a Syrian helicopter opened fire on his position on the Golan Heights. His grave occupies the front row of the small military cemetery in the Galilee village of Hurfeish, which holds 28 fallen soldiers.
