A 29-year-old man named Daljeet died after an alleged assault at Tor House nightclub in north Delhi, prompting police to arrest five suspects: the club’s manager, his wife, and three security staff. The incident unfolded late on October 10 near Ashok Park Metro station when a beer spill on the manager’s wife sparked a confrontation that escalated into a violent assault with sticks, glass bottles and water. Daljeet’s friends say the attackers continued the beating even after they tried to leave, and that a firearm was brandished while cash and two mobile phones were taken.
Daljeet suffered a fractured jaw and other injuries before collapsing near his home and being declared dead at Guru Gobind Singh Hospital. Investigators have seized the club’s digital video recorder to examine CCTV footage and are also checking whether the venue had proper late-night operating permits.
