Five-year-old plays with dolls beside mother’s body after alleged husband killing in Bihar
A five-year-old was found playing with toys near her mother’s corpse after the woman was allegedly beaten to death by her husband in Vaishali district, Bihar.
In Vaishali district, Bihar, 22-year-old Asha Devi was found dead on a bed after allegedly being beaten with a stick by her husband, Sujit Paswan. A local resident called her relatives, who arrived to discover the house unlocked, the interior deserted, and the five-year-old daughter, Anshika Kumari, playing with dolls in the courtyard, unaware of her mother’s condition. Asha’s father, Ganesh Paswan, said the family had fled before the relatives got there, leaving the child calling for her mother.
Police, led by Bidupur SHO Ravi Prakash, secured the scene, gathered evidence, and sent a Forensic Science Laboratory team to examine the body. A post-mortem was performed, and investigators have launched a manhunt for Sujit Paswan and other family members who escaped after the alleged murder.
