Flipkart's Minutes service narrows gap with India's quick-commerce leaders

Flipkart's Minutes platform is now handling roughly 1.1-1.2 million orders daily, closing in on Swiggy's Instamart volumes.

Two years after debuting, Flipkart's quick-commerce arm Minutes is delivering between 1.1 million and 1.2 million orders per day, up from roughly 390,000-400,000 in November, according to sources. This volume approaches Swiggy's Instamart, which moves about 1.4 million orders daily and serves over 14 million monthly users across more than 1,200 dark stores in 130 cities. Flipkart has rapidly grown its micro-fulfilment centre count to roughly 1,020-1,050, up from 600 in January and 340 a year earlier, adding about 100 facilities each month with a goal of 1,500 by late 2026.

The service benefits from Flipkart's extensive existing customer base, with repeat purchase rates of 65-70 % and a 50-60 % rise in transactions per customer year-over-year. Average order values sit around ₹400-₹500, and delivery times have fallen to about 11 minutes. Competitors Amazon, Swiggy, Zepto and Blinkit are also expanding their instant-delivery operations.

Why it matters

Flipkart's rapid scaling reshapes India's fast-delivery market, intensifying competition for consumer spending.
