FlixBus and Rede Nacional de Expressos clash over delayed Sete Rios launch
FlixBus says it needs more time to move operations to Lisbon's Sete Rios terminal, while Rede Nacional de Expressos claims the company still lacks required licences.
FlixBus has asked Rede Nacional de Expressos to defer the commencement of its service at the Sete Rios bus terminal, arguing that it requires at least twenty days after definitive access approval to adjust systems and relocate from the Gare do Oriente. Rede Nacional de Expressos responded that the operator has not obtained the compulsory licences needed for the new terminal. The conflict stems from a March ruling by the Lisbon Administrative Court ordering immediate access for FlixBus, which has led to ongoing talks between the two entities.
FlixBus also highlighted that the final confirmation of the 23 services to be transferred was only received recently after a meeting facilitated by the Autoridade da Mobilidade e dos Transportes. Meanwhile, Rede Nacional de Expressos noted it had extended capacity declarations until the end of the year to aid FlixBus's access, but said the process remains unfinished.
