Florida couple arrested for infant's death after alleged violent shaking while gaming

Gracie Jai Tellez, 20, and Robert Lee Ingram, 22, were taken into custody on Aug. 7 in Jacksonville following the death of their 7-week-old daughter, discovered cold and unresponsive at their Hollywood residence on Oct. 14, 2025. After Tellez dialed 911, the infant was rushed to a hospital where she was declared brain dead four days later and her organs were donated. An autopsy revealed severe head trauma, bleeding in both eyes, retinal detachments and skull fractures, which medical examiners linked to violent shaking and non-accidental injury.

Investigators noted the parents had told police the baby was fed and placed in a bassinet, but phone logs showed they were playing Call of Duty in the hours before the call. The pair face charges of aggravated manslaughter of a child and child neglect, have been extradited to Broward County and are being held without bond. The US Marshals Service assisted with the arrests.
