Florida investor sues Delaware Life and affiliates over hidden related-party exposure
A Miami resident has filed a federal class action accusing Delaware Life Insurance and companies linked to Mark Walter of concealing billions in related-party investments while overstating annuity values.
In a Miami federal court, investor Ira Rosner claims Delaware Life Insurance Co. and several entities connected to billionaire Mark Walter concealed extensive related-party holdings while inflating the value of a fixed index annuity he purchased for roughly $1 million. Rosner alleges the insurer told regulators that only about 3% of its assets—approximately $1.4 billion—were linked to affiliates, yet later filings revealed the figure was closer to 42% at the end of 2025.
The complaint lists Delaware Life, Group 1001 Insurance Holdings LLC, Group 1001 Inc., TWG Global Holdings LLC, Guggenheim Partners LLC and Walter as defendants. Federal grand-jury subpoenas were issued to Delaware Life and another Walter-controlled insurer, Clear Spring Life, prompting the class action. Rosner says he surrendered the annuity after learning of the investigation, incurring a surrender charge and market-value adjustment of $116,575.53. The lawsuit adds to broader investigations by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York and the SEC into the insurers’ related-party disclosures.
