Florida man arrested again after vandalizing restaurants just weeks after swan killing release

Adonis Leyva, 34, was released from prison last month after serving just under a year for killing a swan at Orlando’s Lake Eola, claiming he was “hungry.” Less than a month later, he was arrested again after a series of vandalism incidents on East Colonial Drive. Leyva used a metal pipe to smash an Arby’s window, terrified a female employee, then battered a Dunkin’ Donuts sign and threw the pipe at passing vehicles.

He was later detained at a Wawa store, and surveillance linked him to damage at a PNC Bank ATM. Authorities have charged him with two third-degree felony criminal-mis­chief counts, and he remains jailed on a $6,000 bond. Local resident Elizabeth Guerrero expressed concern, saying the community does not feel safe when someone with a history of animal cruelty is released.
