Florida man flees police, drops 2-year-old and 10-month-old into swamp
A Lakeland driver who crashed while intoxicated fled with his 2-year-old child and 10-month-old infant, dropping them into swamp water before police rescued them.
Lakeland Police reported that Isaac Kinsey, 27, crashed his vehicle through a road-closure sign while intoxicated and fled the scene with his 2-year-old child and 10-month-old infant. Body-camera and drone video captured Kinsey stumbling through a wooded swamp at night, repeatedly dropping the children into the water. Officers pursued the suspect, shouting commands and using flashlights to locate him.
The police eventually caught Kinsey and rescued both children, who were taken to a local hospital for injuries, while Kinsey also received medical care. He allegedly admitted to being drunk and driving with a suspended license. Authorities have charged him with eight misdemeanors and three felonies, including two counts of negligent child abuse with great bodily harm.
