Florida mother discovers her three children dead after ex-father's suspected murder-suicide

Olivia Piccolo found her 5-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son shot dead at their father's home in Cocoa, Florida, where the 37-year-old father is believed to have killed them before taking his own life.

Olivia Piccolo arrived at Joseph Dingwall’s residence in Cocoa to collect her daughter Aira, 5, and son Remy, 7, when she found the door ajar and the three children dead from gunshot wounds. Police identified the 37-year-old father as the suspected shooter in a murder-suicide, though a motive has not been disclosed. A neighbor, Marcos Garcia, heard two clear shots around 12:20 a.m. the night before and later saw the father moving outside the house on a doorbell camera.

Authorities noted that police had responded to the home 11 times previously for various concerns. A GoFundMe page set up by a family friend has collected more than $15,000 to cover funeral expenses and aid Piccolo, while Cocoa Mayor Michael C. Blake called on the community to keep the family in prayer and support. The tragedy has shocked the local area and highlighted concerns about domestic violence and child safety.
