Florida Senate candidate's campaign paid staffer with extremist anti-Israel posts
A social-media manager hired by Senate hopeful Angie Nixon was paid at least $8,400 despite a history of posts praising Hamas and calling for violence against Zionists.
Sara Mahmoud served as the social-media manager for Florida Senate candidate Angie Nixon and received at least $8,400 for her work in the summer, per recent FEC records. Canary Mission, an antisemitism monitoring group, compiled numerous online statements by Mahmoud that glorify Hamas and urge violence against Zionists, including a deleted X post asking Zionists to die. Her posts also target white Jews and equate Zionism with white supremacy.
Nixon’s campaign has not disclosed whether it knew of these messages when hiring Mahmoud and confirms she is no longer on staff. A campaign spokesperson declined to comment on the appropriateness of the posts. Nixon has publicly opposed U.S. military aid to Israel, aligning with the Democratic Socialists of America’s platform that supports Palestinian self-determination.
