Florida teacher arrested on three felony charges for inappropriate messages to former student
A 31-year-old teacher at Memorial Middle School was taken into custody on three felony counts after admitting to exchanging improper messages with a former teenage pupil since 2023.
Christian Schneider, 31, a teacher employed by Memorial Middle School in Florida, was arrested on Friday after a criminal probe revealed he had been sending inappropriate messages to a former teenage student from Franklin Middle School since 2023. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office filed two second-degree felony counts for solicitation or possession of child sexual abuse material and one third-degree felony for unlawful use of a two-way communications device, all dated July 3.
After being booked, Schneider posted a $2,500 surety bond for each count, totaling $7,500, and was released on bail early Saturday. Sheriff Chad Chronister warned that exploiting the trust placed in educators constitutes a serious violation of school values. Authorities have not disclosed the student's age or the content of the messages, and the case remains under active investigation. The local school district has been contacted for comment on Schneider's employment status.
