Foetus Discovered at One Selayang Dump Triggers Criminal Investigation
A foetus estimated at 24 weeks was found in a trash site in One Selayang, prompting police to open a case under Section 318 of the Penal Code.
Authorities were alerted at 7.20 pm after a member of the public reported the discovery of a foetus at a rubbish disposal area on Jalan OS 1/4 in One Selayang, Batu Caves. Gombak police chief Assistant Commissioner Ibrahim Husin said the incident is being investigated as a possible violation of Section 318, which deals with concealing a birth. The offence carries a maximum penalty of two years’ imprisonment, a fine, or both. Police have asked anyone with further information to contact the Gombak police headquarters or Inspector Prakash Sithambaram.
