Folk horror ‘Wolf Days’ and family drama ‘The First Week of August’ clinch top CineLink honors

Emilija Gašić’s “Wolf Days” and Filip Mojzeš’s “The First Week of August” each secured the leading awards at the Sarajevo Film Festival’s CineLink Industry Days.

During the CineLink Industry Days of the Sarajevo Film Festival, Serbian director Emilija Gašić won the Eurimages Co-Production Development Award for her folk-horror film “Wolf Days,” a story about a menopausal woman drawn into bizarre rituals. The €20,000 prize will support the project’s next stage. Croatian filmmaker Filip Mojzeš secured the HBO Award for his family drama “The First Week of August,” which explores hidden tensions during a seaside vacation, receiving €30,000 for further development.

Additional honors included the Eurimages Special Co-Production Development Award for Oleksandr Roshchyn’s “Mamayi,” the Post Republic Award for Bojan Vuletić’s “The White Week,” and several cash and service grants for projects from Turkey, Georgia, Slovenia and Kazakhstan. The festival, running Aug. 14-21, highlighted a broad slate of regional productions seeking financing and distribution.
