Ford Australia recalls 3,745 F-150 pickups over fuel-tank strap fire hazard

Ford Australia is recalling 3,745 F-150 trucks built between 2023 and 2026 because a fuel-tank strap may detach, potentially causing a leak and fire.

Ford Australia has issued a new recall affecting 3,745 F-150 pickups produced from 2023 to 2026 after discovering that the fuel-tank strap may not be firmly attached to the frame rail, which could separate while driving and allow fuel to leak. In the presence of an ignition source, the leak could lead to a vehicle fire, endangering occupants, other road users and property. A VIN list and the original recall notice are provided, and owners are instructed to schedule a complimentary inspection and repair with an authorized Ford dealer.

The company can be contacted at 13 36 73 for further questions. This recall follows numerous previous actions, including stops in sales and deliveries, multiple safety recalls, and compensation offers since the model’s Australian launch in 2023.
