Ford initiates recall of over 223,000 F-150 trucks for fuel-tank defect

The U.S. safety regulator disclosed a recall affecting 223,472 Ford F-150 trucks built between 2023 and 2027 because the fuel-tank mounting may be insufficient, allowing the tank to detach or develop leaks during driving. Such failures could lead to road-side hazards, engine shutdowns, or fire outbreaks. Ford will provide free inspections and replace any faulty tank straps at authorized dealerships.

Vehicle owners are advised to check their VIN through the regulator’s recall lookup tool or contact Ford’s hotline for assistance. This recall follows several other large-scale Ford recalls this year, including Mustang and other truck and SUV models. Analysts warn that repeated recalls may pressure automakers to tighten supplier oversight and could affect consumer confidence.
