Forensics student pleads guilty to murdering sex worker in Airbnb kill room

At Wolverhampton Crown Court, 20‑year‑old Benjamin William Day entered a guilty plea to the murder of sex worker Maria Saceanu. The killing occurred in an Airbnb in Tividale, West Midlands, where Day had allegedly set up a “kill room” with knives, plastic sheeting and a staple gun, according to the prosecution. He stabbed the victim 78 times and then attempted to dismember her before abandoning the effort because of a hand injury. Day called 999 at 12:50 am, saying the injury was caused by an animal, and was arrested at 3:42 am. He remains in custody pending sentencing on December 4.
