Former Barcelona mayor Ada Colau moves in with relative after 15-year tenancy ends

Ada Colau appeared on the RTVE programme Cafè d’Idees to reveal that she has vacated the apartment she called home for more than 15 years. Following a divorce, she is supporting two children on a single wage, which she says is insufficient to keep up with the rent. Consequently, she has moved in with a family member to share housing costs.
Colau highlighted that her experience is typical for separated mothers and fathers who face rental markets that assume dual incomes. She also referenced a recent video urging her political platform to leave the government unless action is taken against vulture funds. Additionally, she hinted at a possible run for Congress if a broad coalition can be formed.
