Former board members seek court order to stop permanent Trump signage at Institute of Peace
Ex-board members of the U.S. Institute of Peace have filed an emergency motion to prevent Donald Trump's name from being permanently engraved on the building.
The former trustees filed the petition in the D.C. Circuit, arguing that the administration plans to have the president's name carved into the Institute's façade. The institute was renamed after Trump in December 2025 and currently displays his name in removable silver letters. The motion claims a contractor has already been chosen for the engraving work.
