Former border official alleges Trump administration seeks his death

Gregory Bovino, a former Border Patrol commander known for a tough approach in Minneapolis, said in a Tucker Carlson interview that senior members of the Trump administration want him dead. He alleged that after his removal from the Department of Homeland Security, his protective detail was stripped, leaving him and his family vulnerable to threats. Bovino singled out Tom Homan, the administration’s border czar, and Customs and Border Protection commissioner Rodney Scott as responsible.

He argued that his aggressive enforcement of the president’s immigration agenda made him a target for politicians favoring cheaper labor. The interview also referenced the firing of DHS secretary Kristi Noem and the appointment of Markwayne Mullin, whose immigration views differ from hard-liners. No official comment has been received from the White House, DHS or Bovino himself.
