Former British-Israeli hostage Emily Damari ties the knot in Tel Aviv

Emily Damari, 30, who was abducted from her home in southern Israel on 7 October 2023 and held for over 15 months, married partner Dami Amit in Tel Aviv. The intimate ceremony featured a dinner for close friends and family, followed by a Chuppah ceremony with custom outfits by designer Oria Azran. Former hostages Romi Gonen, Doron Steinbrecher, Liri Albag, Danielle Gilboa, Omer Shem Tov, Keith and Aviva Siegal, and twins Gali and Ziv Berman were among the guests.

In her remarks, Damari’s mother Mandy reflected on the 471 days of captivity and celebrated the couple’s new beginning. The event underscores the personal recovery of those freed after the October 2023 Hamas attack, which resulted in roughly 1,200 deaths and 251 hostages, and sparked a Gaza conflict that has claimed over 73,430 lives according to the health ministry.
