Former broadcaster Alan Jones faces third witness testimony in indecent assault trial

In Sydney’s Downing Centre Local Court, the criminal trial of 85-year-old Alan Jones proceeded with the opening of evidence from a third complainant, referred to as “M”. The complainant, a former athlete, alleges that Jones kissed him without permission on two separate occasions and once pressed his body against his upper thigh. Jones maintains that none of the alleged physical acts occurred.

The case comprises 20 indecent assault charges and two sexual-touching counts, alleged to have taken place between 2003 and 2020 involving six male complainants. Earlier, complainants “J” and “C” completed their testimonies, some of which were given in a private room, while “M” chose to sit in the public witness box. Reporters are following the proceedings from a separate location, and counseling services such as the National Sexual Assault, Domestic Family Violence Counselling Service and the Men’s Referral Service have been listed for support.
