Former BYU quarterback Jaren Hall begins TV analyst role ahead of season opener

Jaren Hall, ex-BYU and former NFL quarterback, will debut as a football analyst on BYUtv’s pre-game show for the Cougars’ opening game.

After a short NFL career that included being drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in 2022, a practice-squad stint with the Seattle Seahawks and a retirement announcement in May, Jaren Hall is moving into sports media. He will appear as an analyst on BYUtv’s "BYU Sports Nation GameDay" pre-game program before the Cougars face Utah Tech. Hall said he values being back in the BYU atmosphere and looks forward to discussing the performances of current stars such as quarterback Bear Bachmeier and running back LJ Martin.

He joins a veteran analyst crew that features former Cougars Blaine Fowler, David Nixon, Harvey Langi and Brian Logan. Hall reflected on his playing days, noting his role in historic wins and memorable moments, and expressed pride in his achievements despite the challenges of his brief professional tenure.
