Former Chick-fil-A employee sentenced for $80,000 mac & cheese fraud

A 23-year-old former Chick-fil-A employee, Keyshun Jones, was convicted of fraud after creating about 800 fake mac & cheese catering orders at a Grapevine, Texas restaurant and channeling the refunds to his personal credit cards, totaling more than $80,000. He pleaded guilty in November and, following a plea bargain, was sentenced on August 13 to three years in prison, with credit for time served. Security footage captured Jones processing the fraudulent transactions behind the counter.

He told reporters from a Tarrant County jail that anger over losing his job led to the poor decision. Jones said he remains on good terms with former coworkers and hopes to rebuild his life, ideally working for Chick-fil-A again after parole. His wife, Keana Jones, described him as “sweet,” while his former boss declined comment.
