Former Colombian President Iván Duque Márquez Leads New ICC Carbon Accounting Advisory Group
Iván Duque Márquez has been appointed chair of the International Chamber of Commerce and Carbon Measures Technical Expert Panel Advisory Group, which will guide the development of a global product-level carbon accounting framework.
The International Chamber of Commerce, together with Carbon Measures, named former Colombian President Iván Duque Márquez as chair of the Technical Expert Panel Advisory Group, a body created to complement the panel’s work on carbon accounting. The Technical Expert Panel gathers experts from academia, finance, industry and civil society to devise a globally consistent product-level carbon emissions accounting framework.
While the panel’s technical conclusions are independent, the Advisory Group, led by Duque, will advise on external perspectives, strategic direction and business relevance. Duque’s background in government and economic development is expected to foster dialogue among business leaders, policymakers and practitioners. The group will help translate technical findings into practical implementation guidance. Further members representing varied sectors and geographies will be announced in the coming months, broadening the group’s stakeholder reach.
