Former Disney Channel actress sues over alleged sexual abuse at age 14
Raquel Lee Bolleau has filed a lawsuit accusing Disney of failing to protect her from sexual abuse by an adult employee when she was 14 during the filming of a 2001 Disney Channel movie.
In a newly filed suit, former Disney Channel star Raquel Lee Bolleau claims she was sexually abused at age 14 while filming the 2001 movie "The Poof Point." She alleges an adult employee provided her with alcohol and repeatedly assaulted her after Disney staff encouraged her to spend time with him. According to the complaint, on-set executives failed to investigate the incident, labeled her "out of control," and even told her mother she had a "demon inside her."
Bolleau says Disney repeatedly kept her guardian away from the set, violating California rules that require a minor's guardian to remain within sight or sound. She also alleges the abuse continued on a first-class flight where the employee forced her to sit beside him and assaulted her until the plane began deboarding. The lawsuit seeks compensatory and punitive damages, attorneys’ fees, costs and interest from The Walt Disney Company. Disney has not responded to requests for comment.
