Former DOJ lawyer Jeff Clark launches firm to fight government overreach
Jeff Clark announced the creation of a new law firm under The Oversight Project, aiming to challenge what he calls government weaponization of oversight and legal processes.
On Wednesday, former Justice Department lawyer Jeff Clark revealed plans to open a new law firm operating under the umbrella of The Oversight Project, a government watchdog organization. The firm’s mission is to confront what Clark describes as the weaponization of government, focusing on congressional and state legislative oversight abuses, distortion of bar discipline procedures, and the dismissal of baseless criminal indictments.
In a post on X, Clark announced that The Oversight Project will considerably enlarge its staff and is actively recruiting attorneys with experience in federal Article I, II, or III branches as well as state-level government work. He emphasized that a small existing team of dedicated lawyers is already in place, and new hires will join them in this effort. Clark also identified himself as the vice president of litigation for The Oversight Project, positioning the new firm as a legal front to advance the group’s objectives.
