Former F1 star predicts Aston Martin will surge to race wins within two years

During a recent episode of the Up To Speed podcast, ex-Formula 1 driver David Coulthard praised Aston Martin's ambitious project and predicted a rapid rise in competitiveness. He highlighted the team's assets, including designer Adrian Newey, driver Fernando Alonso, a new Honda works engine, a modern wind tunnel, and ongoing funding from Lawrence Stroll. Despite these advantages, the 2026 campaign has been disappointing, leaving the team in tenth place with a solitary point earned by Alonso in Monaco.

Coulthard admitted the current car lags behind rivals but insisted the team will become the sport's most improved outfit within two seasons and will start winning races. The Hungarian Grand Prix saw an extensive upgrade package that lifted both Lance Stroll and Alonso into the midfield, though they remained off the points. Coulthard concluded that continued development should soon bring the required power and downforce for podium contention.
