Former Five Star MP Di Battista credits Cuban doctors after life-saving surgery

Alessandro Di Battista, the ex-Five Star Movement deputy, posted on Substack a picture with the Cuban medical team that performed his operation at Hospital Clínico Quirúrgico Hermanos Ameijeiras in Havana. He reported that his health has markedly improved and that he intends to resume writing and activism, promising to detail the entire experience on Giovanni Floris’s La7 show that evening. Di Battista lauded the excellence of Cuban healthcare and accused United States policies of acting like “mafiosi” that strangle the Cuban people.

He recalled his earlier visit to Cuba to document the effects of the U.S. embargo and added that numerous Palestinian doctors killed by Israeli terrorists received training in Cuba. The former MP also disclosed a supportive SMS from journalist Sigfrido Ranucci, who praised his resilience and urged him to keep resisting.
