Former footballer Fredrik Gulsvik sentenced to over nine years for drug smuggling

Ex-player Fredrik Gulsvik received a prison term of nine years and eight months after being convicted of organized drug trafficking and money laundering.

In Oslo District Court, former footballer Fredrik Gulsvik was sentenced to nine years and eight months in prison for involvement in serious organized drug crime and aggravated money laundering. The conviction stems from two smuggling incidents: a 2025 operation moving 16 kilograms of cocaine from Sweden to Oslo concealed in a car, and a 2024 case where Dutch police intercepted another shipment. Gulsvik’s lawyer, Alexander Greaker, said the defense will scrutinize the verdict and consider an appeal.

Earlier, Gulsvik had requested imprisonment, admitting guilt and expressing a desire to start his sentence. He has remained in custody since the trial began in the autumn. The court’s decision reflects the severity of the offenses.
