Former Gorj school inspector detained on child pornography and sexual exploitation charges
A 62-year-old ex-employee of the Gorj County School Inspectorate has been placed in preventive detention while investigators probe allegations of child pornography and sexual exploitation of a minor.
DIICOT prosecutors claim a 62-year-old former employee of the Gorj County School Inspectorate engaged in a sustained campaign of child sexual exploitation from July 2025 to February 2026, coercing a 14-year-old to produce and transmit explicit images while also sending the minor his own pornographic photographs. Investigators recovered multiple storage devices and mobile phones during raids in Gorj and Mehedinţi that allegedly held additional child sexual abuse material.
The suspect was taken into custody by DIICOT officers and subsequently placed in preventive detention for 30 days by a tribunal judge. The operation involved the Organized Crime Combat Service of Gorj, counterpart units in Mehedinţi, and local gendarmes. The accused retains the presumption of innocence and all procedural guarantees under Romanian law.
