Former inmate arrested twice in first week at Cal Poly Humboldt dorms

Delos Anthony Charles Moore, a 43-year-old who began his freshman year studying forestry at Cal Poly Humboldt, was arrested on August 31 following an alleged sexual assault in the Hinarr Hu Moulik dormitory. After being ordered by a court to stay off campus, he allegedly re-entered the residence halls and was detained again for violating that order. Authorities released him on a $35,000 bond.

Moore spent 14 years in California prisons, receiving a two-year sentence plus a ten-year gang-related enhancement, and later an additional five-year term for narcotics found in a condom brought by his girlfriend. While incarcerated he earned an associate degree in sociology and was released in 2021, later working as a production assistant and receiving a scholarship to attend Cal Poly Humboldt less than three months before his arrests. He has spoken publicly about his prison experiences and past robberies.
