Former military intelligence chief dismissed after ministerial proposal

The former director of the Military National Security Service was removed from his post following a proposal by Defence Minister Ruszin-Szendi Romulusz.

A presidential decree signed by Baka András terminates the employment of Börcsök András, who once headed the Military National Security Service. The action follows a recommendation from Defence Minister Ruszin-Szendi Romulusz. The decree states that Börcsök's contract will end at a future point, though the exact timing was not disclosed. Börcsök served as the agency's director and was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit in 2017 while holding the rank of colonel. Queries to the Defence Ministry and the Sándor Palace regarding the timing and reasons for the dismissal remain unanswered.

Why it matters
