Trey Mancini, 34, used his Instagram account to announce his retirement, thanking baseball after a brief five-game tenure with the Los Angeles Angels. He joined the Angels on a minor-league deal in February that included a major-league spring-training invitation, and posted a.273 average with six home runs for Triple-A Salt Lake this year. His last MLB appearance came on June 14, and he was designated for assignment three days later.
