Former MP Hadházy claims MP Sárosi profited from massively overvalued Paksi land deals

Former parliamentarian Hadházy Ákos says current MP Sárosi József earned money from land purchases by Paksi Ipari Park Kft. that were bought at prices far above market rates.

Former lawmaker Hadházy Ákos has disclosed additional documentation linking current MP Sárosi József to highly inflated land purchases by Paksi Ipari Park Kft. (PIP). The transactions involved agricultural plots bought at prices that Hadházy describes as dozens of times the market value, with an example of a 20-hectare pasture bought for several billion forints. Hadházy says Sárosi, who led the municipal operating company at the time, approached landowners with a "fantastic business opportunity" and offered to help reclassify the land in exchange for a private success fee.

While Sárosi’s name is absent from the PIP contracts, a handover protocol for a 5.5-hectare field lists him as the seller’s liaison, indicating a mediating role. Hadházy has submitted these findings as an amendment to his earlier criminal complaint and calls for a thorough investigation of the financial flows and testimonies from the affected landowners.

Why it matters

The allegations raise concerns about possible corruption and misuse of public funds in high-value land deals.
