Former MP Prajwal Revanna seen using phone inside Bengaluru high-security jail

Footage circulating online depicts convicted former MP Prajwal Revanna speaking on a mobile phone while dressed in civilian clothes inside his cell at Parappana Agrahara Central Prison in Bengaluru. The video follows a large-scale Central Crime Branch operation that recovered a Redmi 5G phone, charger, pen drive and a scribbling pad from the cell shared with inmate Prathap Rai. Officials say the phone contained apps such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, all password-protected.
During questioning, Rai asserted the items were his, and Revanna admitted using the same phone to reach his family and lawyer. A special investigative team has been formed, an assistant superintendent has been suspended for alleged negligence, and the prison superintendent received a show-cause notice. A case has been filed against both inmates for possessing prohibited articles inside the prison.
