Former North London teacher convicted of decades-old assaults on two teenage pupils

A former chemistry instructor at Christ’s College in North London, Sally-Anne Bowen, was found guilty by a Harrow Crown Court jury of seven indecent assault charges relating to two male students who were 14 or 15 when the alleged incidents took place. One accuser claimed they had sexual intercourse roughly 20 to 30 times over several months and considered Bowen his girlfriend, while the second recounted a kiss in a café and alleged breast contact.

During the trial, prosecutors highlighted Bowen’s habit of wearing tight tops and short skirts, and a former student testified that she behaved like a pop-culture video star in class. Bowen maintained the allegations were a “total fabrication” and expressed no knowledge of the complainants. She denied any romantic involvement, insisting the relationship was strictly teacher-student. The court ordered her to remain free on bail until a sentencing hearing scheduled for November 20.
