Former nursery worker convicted of fraud receives additional 24-month term
Kristian Perry, a convicted paedophile who forged references to obtain nursery jobs, was sentenced to a further 24 months, to run after his existing 44-month term.
Kristian Perry, 27, appeared via video link from HMP Millsike to face a fresh fraud charge after police discovered he fabricated references and email accounts to obtain a third nursery role while already under investigation. The court noted his prior dismissal from a nursery in June 2024 for drinking and his earlier use of forged references to gain a second position, where he worked for ten months before arrest. He was previously sentenced to 44 months for fraud and possession of over 5,000 illegal images of children, with an additional 20 months added in September for being unduly lenient given his access to minors.
Judge Howard Crowson emphasized Perry’s clear sexual interest in children and ordered a new 24-month term, to commence after his current sentence ends. The sentencing was influenced by the early guilty plea, and the judge warned that Perry would pose a serious threat if allowed back into childcare settings.
