Former RBB Director Patricia Schlesinger and Executives Charged with Embezzlement
Patricia Schlesinger, the ex-intendant of Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg, and several former senior staff face a court case for alleged embezzlement against the public broadcaster.
A Berlin court has accepted a prosecution request to try Patricia Schlesinger, the former head of Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg, alongside three other ex-managers for alleged embezzlement that harmed the public broadcaster. The indictment, issued by the Generalstaatsanwaltschaft, covers conduct from January 2018 through July 2022 and was first lodged in December 2025. Following the public revelation of the scandal in summer 2022, the implicated officials departed the station. The legal proceedings will consist of 56 main hearing dates extending to the end of June 2027, with the presumption of innocence emphasized by the court.
