Former Rep. Eric Swalwell seen at D.C. home as LA DA reviews rape case

Eric Swalwell was spotted hurriedly entering a black SUV outside his former Washington, D.C., residence while the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office said it is reviewing a rape allegation against him.

Eric Swalwell, who resigned from Congress amid multiple sexual-misconduct allegations, was captured on video rushing toward a black SUV outside the $1.2 million home he once shared with his wife Brittany Watts and their three children in Washington, D.C. He attempted to disguise himself with a cap and glasses before finally entering the vehicle. The Los Angeles District Attorney’s office announced it is reviewing the rape complaint brought by 50-year-old model Lonna Drewes, who says Swalwell drugged and assaulted her in a West Hollywood hotel in 2018 while pretending to help her fashion-software startup.

Drewes and attorney Lisa Bloom filed a police report, and the DA has not yet decided on charges. In addition to the Los Angeles probe, Swalwell is under a Department of Justice investigation involving other women and has been questioned by FBI agents at San Francisco International Airport. He remains involved in two California ventures, the AI fundraising platform Findraiser and the media firm Scrublin LLC, which he launched shortly before his aborted gubernatorial campaign.
