Former technician charged with murdering wife after alleged 13-stab attack
A 43-year-old former technician, G. Vikneswaran, was formally charged with killing his 39-year-old wife, S. Sila, at their home in Taman Tiram.
In Kulim, a magistrate's court hearing saw former technician G. Vikneswaran, 43, charged with the murder of his wife, S. Sila, 39, at their Taman Tiram residence. The charge, read before magistrate Nur Hamizah Mat Shah, was not entered with a plea because the matter falls under High Court jurisdiction. According to the prosecution, Sila suffered 13 stab wounds between 6.30 pm and 9.04 pm on September 14.
The indictment, under Section 302 of the Penal Code, allows for either the death penalty or a term of 30 to 40 years imprisonment, plus at least 12 strokes of the cane if capital punishment is not applied. Deputy Public Prosecutor S. Preeyaa represented the state, while Vikneswaran chose to remain unrepresented. The court scheduled a further mention for December 8.
