Former TV star Bobb'e Thompson sentenced to 30 months for illegal gun possession

Actor Bobb'e Thompson, who appeared on one outlet’s 30 Rock and MTV’s Wild ’N Out, was ordered to serve 30 months in federal prison after admitting guilt to illegal firearm possession. The sentencing was handed down by United States District Court Judge Leonard T. Strand in Sioux City, accompanied by a three-year supervised release period. Law enforcement stopped Thompson’s vehicle for speeding in September 2025, discovering a loaded.40-caliber handgun that had been reported stolen from Kansas City, Missouri, as well as several bags of marijuana.

The vehicle was traveling 104 mph in a 70-mph zone. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Iowa highlighted Thompson’s earlier criminal record, which includes convictions for battery, assault and prior illegal gun possession. The case remains open for further updates.
